I’m Dr. Stefan Oborski-PMO Director, Program Manager, Project Manager, Coach, Speaker & Emotional Intelligence Practitioner. You might be wondering how I got here - well, let me tell you, it's been quite a journey. From joining the US Navy at 17 to traveling the world and serving for almost 24 years, I've been around the block. And somewhere along the way after my Navy service, I accidentally fell into project management – I am glad I did! I've managed projects of all shapes and sizes, from federal to commercial, Agile to waterfall. But what really gets me going is the power of emotional intelligence in project management. It's like the secret sauce that makes everything come together. I was so taken aback by what my experience had shown, and I focused my doctoral research on the subject. My research was titled “Exploring the Strategies Project Managers Need to Cultivate Trust With their Government Counterparts.” Spoiler alert: it's all about relationships! I truly believe that emotional intelligence is the key to building strong customer, team, and stakeholder relationships, fostering trust throughout the team, and helping project teams perform better.
